The Meadow Dance Panel and the Sew Steady/Aurifil Giveaway!

Posted on 262 Comments

Note:   This giveaway is now closed.  The winner, chosen by Rafflecopter, is Jonnie Britton, from South Carolina. Congratulations, Jonnie!  Thanks to everyone for entering!

Hey everyone!

Maybe you remember this past summer when we announced my Meadow Dance Panel, which features a Guide that you can use with two sets of fantastic Westalee rulers?  And then it was sold out so quickly you couldn’t find it anywhere?  Well, the reorders are in and it is shipping to shops over the next two weeks.  To celebrate, Sew Steady, Aurifil, and I decided to do a giveaway!  And it is a big one!

(For anyone new to this page specifically for the giveaway, please join my Facebook Group if you’d like to see sneak peeks of my designs and quilting tips before anyone else in the future.)

The winner will get the panel, the guide, a Beautiful Borders set of Westalee Rulers, and my Meadow Dance Collection of fantastically colorful Aurifil threads (which I used for the panel but also for my Meadowsweet applique pattern). Plus I’m throwing in a set of all of my Meadow Dance patterns!

My Meadow Dance patterns. Clockwise from the upper left: Meadowsweet, Meadow Minis, Meadow Blooms, and Meadow Song.

You have three chances to win by entering here, at Sew Steady, and Aurifil. You have until next Thursday the 7th to enter in all three places.  Enter in the rafflecopter below!

One more thing… in my Facebook Group I always get inundated with inquiries about where to buy things, so I had Benartex work up a list of shops that were going to be receiving panel orders in the next couple of weeks and I’m pasting it below.  This list isn’t comprehensive as many shops order through distributors, but if you are looking for a place in your area to order panels or rulers, this is a great place to start.

Happy quilting!

Amanda

Meadow Dance Blog Hop and Giveaways!

Posted on 216 Comments

Note: The winner of this giveaway is Peggy, who said that Meadow Blooms “tops the list” for her.  Congratulations, Peggy, and thanks for commenting everyone!

Hi everyone!
The folks at Contempo of Benartex have arranged a blog hop for my new collection, Meadow Dance, and we didn’t want you to miss it!

For more information head on over to Sew in Love with Fabric, where I talk about the line, the prints, the inspiration behind the motifs, a coordinating Aurifil thread collection, etc. And for the rest of the week they have a fun giveaway in store for you all each and every day!

In celebration of the hop, I think I’ll do a little giveaway myself! Just tell me which your favorite pattern is this time by leaving a comment on the blog to enter. I’ll pick a random winner of Meadow Dance goodies (patterns and a charm square) this Sunday night (the 24th).  If you already have the patterns I’ll send you other patterns of your choice, so no worries there!  (One entry per person please.)

Just as a little reminder, these are the patterns this time round, all pieced on my BERNINA 780 and quilted on the BERNINA Q Series

Meadow Blooms
“Meadow Blooms”, my two-block quilt that looks WAY harder to piece than it actually is!

“Meadow Song”, a modern take on a Dresden that is scrappy with two background prints.

“Meadowsweet” – a fun applique pattern with SVG files included!

Meadow Minis
“Meadow Minis”, a block-of-the-month with directions for “quilt-as-you-go” rulerwork!

Meadow Dance Ruler Panel
And last, but not least, the Ruler Guide for my Meadow Dance Panel, which works with Westalee ruler sets!

There is also a Meadow Dance embroidery collection by OESD – more on that soon!

There is also a free pattern – Meadow Paths, you can download from my downloads page

Good luck on the giveaway and I hope you have a lovely week! Happy quilting!

Meadow Dance Ruler Panel

Posted on 5 Comments

Hi everyone!  Happy Labor Day weekend!

I hope everyone is getting a little bit of relaxation this weekend.

I’ve been getting a lot of emails inquiring about my new Meadow Dance ruler panel for Contempo or Benartex.  I had refrained from announcing it here on the blog until it started shipping but since it came in from the printer this week I thought I’d take the opportunity to let you know the details.

Some of you might remember that about a year ago I developed a ruler panel specifically for BERNINA ruler sets.  Well, this year I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to develop another panel – this time one to work with Westalee rulers.  Like the BERNINA panel, it has the markings you need for rulerwork printed on the fabric, but it is very different from the BERNINA panel because Westalee rulers are very different in shape.

Leonie West of Australia is the wonderfully creative designer of Westalee rulers.  There are hundreds to choose from and we just chose a small sampling to showcase in the panel.

We made up two different designs for the panel.  Each uses 4 rulers.  The first design is called “Beautiful Borders” and it features some versatile border designs, a fun rotational design, and one of the new Flying Bell Curve rulers.  The Westalee part number for this set is  #WT-MDBBSET.

The second set is called “Feather Focus” and I bet you can guess what emphasizes!  There is a feather template and a feather wreath template in this set, as well as a Between the Line pebble ruler and the 6” arc tool (which are some of my personal favorites!)  The Westalee part number for this set is  #WT-MDFFSET.  A 6-point crosshair square is also highly recommended for the feathers design, although it isn’t completely necessary as you can can also use the 30 degree markings on one of your cutting rulers as a substitute.

I wrote a guidebook for how to use the ruler sets on the panel.  Directions for both designs are included in the guidebook.  So you can get two panels and try both designs or just stick with one.

So, how do you get these designs?  I’m a huge supporter of local shops so I’ve love it if you would ask your local shop to order the guidebook, rulers, and ruler panel.  I do also stock the guidebook on my website for those of you who don’t have a local shop, although I don’t have the space to stock rulers and panels.  I am hoping some shops that stock these will post in my Facebook group.  (I also post my teaching engagements in my Facebook Group if there are openings prior to the dates.)

I also have an Aurifil thread collection that coordinates both with this panel and with my Meadowsweet pattern, but it is temporarily out of stock.  I’ll let you know when it is back in.

“Meadowsweet”

So, that is the new Meadow Dance ruler panel.  I hope you like it!  I love teaching rulerwork and it is always fun to have a tool to make it easy and fun!

Happy Labor Day and happy quilting!

Amanda
