A couple of years ago I saw an amazing display of intricately painted blown eggs by an artist at the North Carolina State Fair. They were so delicate and beautiful. I wish I could remember the artist’s name.
The dozen eggs that my daughter and I made this weekend out of styrofoam and fabric are not delicate, but we think they are quite beautiful. (Our no-sew method was messy, but quite forgiving.)
Of course, we can’t take credit for all this loveliness. These colorful spring fabrics and ribbons would brighten anyone’s day.
Over the past few weeks I’ve kept quite busy with fabric submissions for Robert Kaufman. Quite suddenly it feels like spring. That seems to be how is in the southeast part of the country. Fall is gloriously long but we seem to move from winter to summer in a blink!
They have a lovely selection of fabric and were quite patient in cutting eigth yard pieces for me.
After this next deadline, the kids and I plan on “dying” fabric eggs, so we needed a nice variety of color and patterns. Once we work out what we are doing, I will post a pattern here. Have a great week everyone! Amanda
A free pattern for my “Springtime Yo-Yo Pillow” is now available. It is the perfect project to use up all those beautiful bits of fabric that we have in our stash and can’t bear to get rid of.
